UPDATE: The winner is…bn100!
In the hills of North Georgia, my little farm is tucked up under the skirts of Lookout Mountain, and I love watching the sunset over the mountain in a daily show of colors. I work from home (even before the pandemic) and have an office where I spend waaaay too much time! Between my day job as an online faculty member for a university and my writing, a lot of my life happens in this small room.
So, I painted the walls one of my favorite colors and bought a comfy chair. I keep all my screens lifted so my neck doesn’t seize up, and I don’t end up an old crone bent over the keyboard! I keep it quiet- with the exception of my office buddies’ snoring! 😊
I hammer the keyboard in this room, but the inspiration and ideas rarely form here. They come to me in the shower, as I’m trying to go to sleep, while I work in the garden, or do chores on the farm. There’s something about the routine of life that lets my brain wander. My husband, bless his heart, patiently brings me back to reality when I get distracted and makes sure I consume something other than coffee and chocolate (which I personally feel are the only two food groups that matter).
As always, I’ve got stories in the works! I’m wrapping one of my upcoming releases for a twisted fairy tale anthology.
I’ve given Robin Hood a new look as Lady Robyn Ashby finds herself destitute and homeless after being unable to pay the exorbitant taxes levied first to fund the Crusades and later by King John’s greed. Forced to fight for survival, Robyn creates a safe haven in Sherwood Forest and soon begins to exact justice for the forsaken people of Nottingham. When her husband, who had been given up for lost in the Crusades, returns from the dead, Robyn is forced to face her bitter feelings of abandonment and resentment. Can she set these feelings aside for the good of the inhabitants of the forest and deliver a definitive strike against the crown? I hope you’ll check out a new kind of tale from Sherwood Forest! It’s a fun ride with all the usual characters, a few new faces, and a dash of heat for good measure! Coming your way Mid-November!!
