“Claimed by her Naga Bodyguard” by Cameron Allie Escaping her dorm for a night of fun with friends takes a turn for a witch-in-training when demons attack, and a mysterious creature comes to her rescue.

When I saw the call for the Secret Identities anthology I immediately got a few ideas, and I wanted to tie my story into my fantasy world. I had no intention of adding a new species to my world, but I decided to look at a mythological creature’s book. In it, I came across Nagas. The book describes them as being large snakes, or men that can change into snakes, or change half of their bodies into a snake form. They were described as being deadly, but also as being protectors, which gave me the idea of my MMC being a secret bodyguard for the MFC. I dove onto the Internet to research more about them and look up versions for inspiration. You’ve likely seen pictures of their statue forms in India and Asia. Of course, like everything I add to Clayridge I put my own spin on them, which I’m excited to explore more in future books. Kaa and this species of dangerous naga assassins and bodyguards have given Clayridge another new twist.

A snippet from “Claimed by her Naga Bodyguard”…

“You said you were being paid to protect me. So, you’re a bodyguard? That’s your job?”

Kaa stared at her but didn’t answer. Almost as though he didn’t want to.

“Kaa?”

He swallowed. “I’m an assassin. I’m paid to kill people.”

“What?” She gasped before pursing her lips. They stared at one another, but when it was clear he wouldn’t elaborate, she whispered, “Why are you here with me?”

“The king of the Nagas owed your father a life debt. When the abductions started, and it became clear that half-blood witches were at risk, your father portaled to our king and asked for the best protection he could spare to keep you safe.”

“And that’s you?”

He nodded. “The king sent his best assassin. Best warrior. And his son.”

“What?”

“He sent his youngest son. It would be dishonorable to repay a life debt with less than the best. And I am the best.”

“Prince?”

“Yes.”

“So, it’s a favor? You’re not getting paid?”

“At first, I was getting paid.” He shook his shoulders. “I’m being paid, yes. But it’s not about money anymore.”

“What’s it about?”

He rolled off the bed and came to stand before her. With his cock right there, she glanced away.

Kaa cupped her chin and gently pulled her to her feet. “It’s about you, Olivia. You’re mine.”

The way he said mine had her shivering. It felt like ownership, and despite the arousal it kindled, that terrified her a bit. She knew nothing about his people and how women were viewed and treated there. “What does that mean?”

“It means that you belong to me, and putting yourself at risk like you did last night will not be tolerated.”

Scoffing, she narrowed her eyes. “Don’t worry. Your job and reputation are safe after last night.”

His grip tightened. “My reputation was never in question. What I care about is your safety. Fuck the job. Fuck your father. You are mine now, and you will not disrespect me by lying to me or putting yourself in danger again.”

“I’m not your possession, you know. I’m my own person.”

His laugh was mocking. Leaning closer, his tongue came out, forked this time, and rapidly flicked along her neck, awakening all her nerve endings. Suddenly, she knew exactly why he was so damn good at giving her oral sex. That tongue had done things to her.

Moussse,” the nickname came out as a hiss against her skin. “You belong to me. Who knows what they would have done if they’d captured you.” He pulled the sheet from her now loose grip before trailing his knuckles down her torso. “This body, these breasts, this cunt, are mine. You tried to give them away.”

“I did not!” Olivia sputtered.

He crowded her. “I’m the only man who touches you now. You. Are. Mine.”

  1. I like most shifters. I’ve struggled a little with dragons. I will admit that I have a thing for wolves because they are such a classic.

  2. I kind of like them all–it’s so much fun to see the different spins authors will put on these stories!
