This was my first foray into the world of lesbian vampires and I gotta say, I loved it. I loved it a lot. So much so that Delilah Devlin and I have contracted a three book series with Ellora’s Cave, Femme Noir.
The first of the series is Bitten in the Big Easy. Here’s a teaser:
Butterfly by Paisley Smith
Vampire, Narcissa Csintalan has come to New Orleans to meet her sister. Where better for a real vampire to fit in? But as usual, Elena’s late. And besides, Cissy has a raging fang-on for the bar’s sinfully sexy, butch bass player. The bite marks on the songbird’s neck put her at the top of Cissy’s must-feed list.
Butterfly Baudelaire has vowed not to bring home any more “strays.” But the blonde coming on to her has a killer pair of fangs and looks like she knows how to use ‘em. Butterfly’s not banking on the bite Cissy takes out of her heart or the fact more than her well-spanked bottom is in danger from her vampire lover.
Gilded Cage by Delilah Devlin
Since she and her sister were turned by the most notorious female vampire in history, Elena Csintalan wrestles her inner demon on a nightly basis. Other than the occasional priest, she limits her meals to those who truly deserve it. This night, she never expects her limits to be tested—until she steps through the doors of a popular New Orleans haunt and finds herself drawn to a tawny woman with curves so lush her eyeteeth spike. Before she knows it, she finds herself dangling inside an iron cage, one frighteningly familiar. And the punishment she endures is oh so divine…
Despite a surprising empathy she feels for the vampire she’s captured, Cassia proceeds with her coven’s plan to drain Elena of her blood at the height of orgasm to complete a potion that will protect them from Elena’s dam. Cassia scried the darkness coming their way and the monster has a name…the Countess Elizabeth Bathory.

Wow!! Decisions, decisions. My fave vampire movie would have to be Interview with a Vampire. As far as favorite TV vampire, well that’d have to be Spike from Buffy, I always loved that bad boy. I love the Blackdagger Brotherhood Series. The new book looks great!!
FEMME NOIR sounds fabulous! Can’t wait to read the stories. Congratulations!
Best–Adele
Thanks!! Oh, I love Lestat, too. I’ll have to look into the Blackdagger Brotherhood. I think Damon Salvatore is my favorite male vampire character right now and female – Pam on True Blood. ::drool::
Zsadist from JR Ward’s Black Dagger Brotherhood series is my absolute favorite vampire!!!!!
I loved Gerard Butler’s vampire in Dracula 2000. Never could figure out why the Van Helsing chick just wouldn’t take the bite!
Bummer! More & more books seem to only be in eformat & I haven’t gone that way yet. Best wishes – Anthologys are great!
Girls Who Bite will be in print, so you’re lucky there. The three installments of Femme Noir will be eBook. Next year, all three installments will be released in print!
Josef Kostan the vamp sidekick from Moonlight – sure Mick St. John had the timeless vampire looks but Josef stole the show with his wit every line!
I miss Moonlight, Tava! That was a great show.
my favorite vampire movie of all time is Dracula (circa 1979) starring Frank Langella. it was the 1st vamp movie i saw and still the best acted Dracula to date. after that i think i love the movie Van Helsing.

I watched that one again about a month ago. Wasn’t it scary when Mina was in that underground thingy? eww!
Our family favorite vampire show was Dark Shadows and
though we liked all the vamps, our most fave was Barnabas
Collins. A more recent favorite of mine: Angel of the Buffy
and Angel shows. David Boreanaz just can’t be beat!
Pat Cochran
I loved DS. I can’t wait to see what Tim Burton is going to do with it.
Tammy, YES! Someone else who knows Frank’s Dracula! He was SO damned sexy! My fave, I think. Tho, Chris Sarandon played one HELL of a sexy vamp in Fright Night. I’m looking forward to and cringing at the same time over the remake. I LOVE Colin Farrell, I’m just not sure he can pull off a vampire.
Ok, going to expound on things. ~~~~
Fave vampire movie of all time: Nosferatu, circa 1922.
Fave vampire hunter: John Bon Jovi in Vampires: Los Muertos
Fave vampire of color: Eddie Murphy in: Vampire in Brooklyn
Fave TV vampire: ERIC NORTHMAN! HELL yeah! The man is dead sexy, no pun intended. He could bite MY neck any freakin time. :p :p :p

My favorite vampire from books is Bones from the Night Huntress series by Jeaniene Frost. And from tv is Angel.
I’m reading the first book in her series now! It’s great! I guess you warm up to Bones eventually, huh?
Best–Adele
Gary Oldman as Dracula. Those eyes! And remember Scream Blackula Scream? That was great! Pam Grier was in it, too.
I have been waiting for this book. My favorite vampires have to be Sherrilyn Kenyon Dark Hunters. Although, I guess Acheron is technically a vampire.
jepebATverizonDOTnet
I have one of Sherilyn Kenyon’s books on my TBR list.
oh god Acheron… YUMMY
Well, I can’t believe anyone has said it, twilight, would be the movie, that hooked me into vampires, all the others just seemed the same, ya know, vampire bad, they suck blood, big teeth, same story line different actors. Book wise, Jen B. is right Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark Hunters, was awesome.
I do love me some Carlisle!
Dimitri from Vampire academy although he is only half vampire.
And Anita Blake’s Jean-Claude, he is kinda feminine but oh so sexy.
