Getting to Know Denise DeMarco (Contest)

Getting to Know Denise DeMarco (Contest)

UPDATE: The winner is…Stephanie!
*~*~*

The first thing to know about me is that my author name is Denise DeMarco, because my “regular” name is Denise DeCrescito, and people tend to have a tough time with that. Something about the “s” and the “c” together causes a wild variety of outcomes. Using a pseudonym eliminates the problem… And saves my kids from sharing an uncommon last name with an author of kissing books. Because that could get awkward.

Growing up, I couldn’t get enough of suspense mysteries like the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys books. I can still picture all the spines of those yellow and blue hardcovers filling many bookshelves in my room. Later, I discovered the steamy novels in my local library. They were the ones on the tall spinning racks not too far from the circulation desk, over by the big copy machine in the corner. Is that where they were in your library? The stories of Barbara Cartland, Joanna Lindsay, and so many more — early fuel for my romantic heart.

I’m a genealogist and a researcher. A professional communicator. A history nerd who loves miscellaneous trivia. A blogger who believes in honest emotion. A parent to three humans and a pet parent to many — some might say too, too many!

And now I’m an author of the kind of books I love to read. I’m excited to have a story included in Delilah Devlin’s Silver Soldiers: A Boys Behaving Badly Anthology. Later this year, I’ll be publishing additional novels, including a romantic suspense and the start of a small-town series. I’m looking forward to sharing them all with you.
