Eight Seconds by Margay Leah Justice
At the rodeo, sometimes all it takes is eight seconds to fall in love

Snippet from “Eight Seconds”…

How long does it take to fall in love?

An hour?

A day?

A month?

A year?

For me, it only took eight seconds. Eight mind-blowing, heart-stopping seconds and I was already a goner. How did it happen so fast, you might wonder? Something like this:

One second… I saw him.

Two seconds… he saw me.

Three seconds… our eyes met.

Four seconds… our breaths caught.

Five seconds… my heart raced.

Six seconds… he slayed me with a rakish smile.

Seven seconds… time paused.

Eight seconds… I fell.

Now my world will never be the same –

  1. It’s a fabulous picture.

I believe in instant attraction, or even lust, but that true love grows over time.

  2. I think it’s possible to feel a connection immediately that can grow into a lasting love.

  3. I know of a few couples who met and were married within a few weeks and they stayed married for over 40 years. That seems pretty insta-y to me so yes, I think it’s possible.
