Rock Star

Two words that bring to mind the ultimate High Octane Hero. After all, they can whip an arena full of fans into a frenzy with one song, seduce a woman’s body and mind with their music, and hey, they’ve got the rhythm for ALL the right moves.

Michael Korvello, the hero of my current release Finding Her Rhythm, has all that…but he doesn’t need it. You see, the guitarist for the hard rock band Solar Uprising has a far more subtle talent: the ability to control his heroine with a single spoken command or a touch of his hand.

Taylor isn’t the type of submissive who needs chains and whips — she just needs a firm hand, a man who can take her mind off her body’s imperfections and focus on being loved as thoroughly and sensually as possible.

Michael is more than man enough for the job!

Excerpt:

“The paparazzi have it all wrong.”

Frozen at the bottom of the stairs, Taylor found herself asking, “What?”

“They have it all wrong, about my brother and me. I don’t have sex with a new woman every night. We didn’t hold orgies on the tour bus. And I didn’t need whips and chains to get my wife to have sex with me.”

Apparently she wasn’t listening to the right kind of gossip shows.

He stalked to her as he spoke again. “People want us to be edgy, raw. After all, we’re rock gods. But my needs are relatively simple.”

Without volition, she found herself backed up to the wall, her fingers flat against the wainscoting to give her some piece of reality to hold on to. Though a part of her was still scared, a growing part of her felt the kindle of arousal.

He leaned in close, resting his forearm on the wall beside her head. The fire behind him obscured his face. Her pulse pounded as she felt space narrow to the inches separating them. He surrounded her, and every muscle in her body wanted to surrender.

If you could have any rock star as your hero, who would it be?

Struggling after the death of her parents, Taylor let her hormones lead her into the biggest mistake of her life. Now she has a dangerous ex who still wants to own her and a desperate need for safety. What could be safer than her new job as a rock star nanny? Except now she’s locked herself in with a man who is potentially more dangerous…to her heart.

Michael Korvello has a dominant nature and a lonely heart that he keeps firmly under wraps. His kids have suffered enough for the mistakes of his past. But his new nanny has those dark desires howling at the gate. The only thing keeping him in check is the fear lurking in those brilliant green eyes. Can he earn her trust, and the right to transform all her desires into reality?

Just when neither can deny their need for each other, Taylor’s ex shows up like an unlucky charm, intent on taking back what he considers his…even if he has to destroy Michael’s world to get to her. Can two kindred souls protect the passionate love they ache for from an outsider bent on ripping them apart?

  1. My number one choice for rock star hero would be James Taylor, inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2000. I’m shocked that he’s considered a rock star–in the live performances I’ve attended he was a gracious and down-to-earth, interacting easily with the audience, cracking jokes, spreading joy and healing. The concert was held a week after 9-11. Security was extreme and the lines into the auditorium long as we passed flower tributes to the lives lost. We were a somber, introspective crowd. James Taylor blew us away…he dedicated the concert to the victims, and for the next two hours gave us joy, peace, respite in a world gone mad. We left the concert with a greater appreciation of the soothing magic of music in the hands of a gifted performer. God bless you, James Taylor

    1. Wow! That is a true Hero!!! To be able to distract and uplift others in the face of tragedy is an incredible talent. Thanks for sharing that story, Judy!

  2. I was blank because I am not usually a Rock fan but I agree, I admire James Taylor. I think I like the idea of rock stars who have hard-edged rough reputations but are truly decent human beings. And I love that perspective…Taylor needs to submit to the idea that she is not as imperfect as she thinks. Thanks for sharing and for the giveaway.

    1. Thanks, Elf! Yes, Taylor has a lot of learning and accepting to do. 🙂 I think the interaction that comes from Michael meeting those needs makes the sex more than just sex, you know?

  3. I think my rock star hero would be Jon Bon Jovi. He’s just so sexy and down to earth 😉
    Thank you for the giveaway!

    1. Jon Bon Jovi!!!!!! Yes, ma’am!!!! I actually saw him in concert a few years ago, and Oh My! Between that sexy bod and his philanthropic work, he’s a hero in a million! Great choice, Cheryl!

  4. My rock star is a toss up between Austin from Hinder and Chad from Nickelback. They are both hot to look at and love their songs.:)

    1. Funny you should choose those, Sheila! Chad, from Nickelback, is the inspiration behind Michael’s brother’s story. Daniel’s book comes out later this year. 🙂 And man, Nickelback is 1 hot group! I love Hinder’s music too!!!

  5. My rock singer would be definitely be Kris Kristofferson. He is so hot!!!

  6. My rock star fantasy would be Robert Plant. 35 years ago. 😉
Damn he could fill out a pair of jeans!

  7. My rock star would be KC and The Sunshine Band. Yes, I’m telling my age but that would be my choice.

Loved reading the excerpt, thank you Dani.

  8. Lenny Kravitz – killer performer, bohemian soul, luscious lips
And he lives on the beach in a camper! Too cool!

  9. Lenny Kravitz – killer performer, bohemian soul, luscious lips killer bod and live in a camper on the beach! Too cool!

  10. Freddie Mercury front man for Queen. It doesn’t get any better then him. 🙂

  11. I’m not much of a follower of rock stars, but I do agree with the pick of James Taylor, for his class and compassion as well as his performances, and Mr. Bon Jovi? He’s aged very well indeed 🙂
