Leah Ridgewood’s High Octane Hero, San Francisco Style

Leah Ridgewood’s High Octane Hero, San Francisco Style

TMT v4Not to brag or anything, but I live in the best city on earth—San Francisco.   It’s a beautiful place, and the landscape inspires my creativity.  So does the culture. There is a sexual openness and tolerance deeply woven into the city’s history and it enchants and excites me.  When I moved here as a twenty-one year old, I was incredibly naïve and the city blew my mind. What is sexier than living among people being themselves, loving whom they love right out in the open?  That’s why I’ve written stories about all kinds of couples (and threesomes) finding each other in my Sex in San Francisco series.

But San Francisco is not a perfect paradise.  We have our fair share of problems. And when I imagined a “High Octane Hero” from my beloved city, I instantly thought of the courageous paramedics who work out of our only public hospital with a trauma ward, San Francisco General.  It’s a tough job, answering the emergency calls of the whole city.  The gothic looking old red-brick hospital sits deep in the heart of the historically Latino neighborhood called the Mission, which has grown more and more trendy and expensive to live in.  Many of the original residents are being forced out.  When I wrote the story, my husband joked, “Only you could write a romance about one of the most controversial issues in our city.”  But, but…! It’s in the midst of conflict and controversy that passions ignite!

My story in High Octane Heroes is called “Painted,” and it’s about a muralist named Rosalia with a terrible fear of heights.  She is about to lose her apartment, and resents her gorgeous blond upstairs neighbor for it, because he’s the nephew of her landlord. But when she discovers he’s a heroic paramedic, it is only the first way he surprises Rosalia and helps her overcome all her fears.

I’m so excited about the release of High Octane Heroes, and I’d love to give you a little taste of the special city I call home.  I’m making all three of my Sex in San Francisco short novellas free for Kindle from Thursday 7/11- Sunday 7/15.

You can find them all from my Amazon page: Amazon | Website | Twitter

Leah Ridgewood has written a dozen paranormal, contemporary and erotic novels and novellas under various pen names.  But she only lets the naughtiest parts of her imagination out to play when she’s signing Leah’s name to the story.  No matter what genre she’s writing, she’s convinced she became a storyteller in bed, as she lay awake imagining how her most improbable fantasies could come true. Her stories are kinky, and sometimes dark, but they always include a fascinating city, quirky characters and unexpected love. They are available on Amazon for Kindle.

  1. Three cheers for San Fran! People accepted for who they are not who they happen to love…fabulous and far too scarce.

Leah, I love my kink with character. The kind of textures in setting and flaws in the hero and heroine that make people fall into the story, not simply read it. And it sounds to me like that’s what you deliver!!

  2. Love San Francisco! It is such a beautiful city. Thanks for the three novellas.
